Donations: Everyone can save lives

Welcome to Frankston Life Saving Club

Donations Page

Most people don't realise that Frankston Life Saving Club is actually a registered not-for-profit entity that is able to accept donations and provide Deductible Gift Certificates (DGRs) that can be offset against your tax

(see sidebar to the right for all the bonafides).

Like community radio, charities and other such organisations, we survive on government grants through Life Saving Victoria, Local Government Grants, the time and efforts of our volunteers and the donations of people in our community, people just like you.

In 2017, we have decided to offer our donors the chance, not only to save lives with their generous donations but also to be seen by their local community for the champion of beach safety that they are. You are the good guys and we believe people should know that too.

Frankston Life Saving Club is registered as a charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission

ABN 83 805 143 292.

Frankston Life Saving Club is endorsed as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) from 01 Jul 2000. It is covered by Item 1 of the table in section 30-15 of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997.

For those considering donating to Frankston Life Saving Club, the Australian Tax Office (ATO) provides guidelines what can be donated under the DGR legislation:
1. Gifts may be in the form of money or property

2. Services cannot be claimed as gifts under the DGR

3. For gifts of money, it is the amount of the gift but it must be $2 or more.

4. For gifts of property, there are different rules, depending on the type of property and its value.

Between the Flags (Business Donations)

We are seeking donations of $1,000 or more, per season for our "Between the Flags" club initiative aim at improving beach safety through increased life saving activity and increased beach safety education by expanding the existing Nippers program,

But beyond that, we want to make our corporate donors life savers too, even if you can't swim a stroke, have nothing to do with the beach or don't know how you could make a difference.

Here's how you Save-Save-and-Save:

1. You get a tax benefit for helping us put fuel in Rescue Boats, replace worn out equipment, buy uniforms and even keep the lights on

2. Your presence is there as part of every rescue we make, featured in the new Donors Flags we will be flying on Frankston Beach this season, in addition to being featured on the footer of our website.

3. You will receive a Letter of Appreciation so your staff and clients how that part of your business Mission Statement is meaningful support of your community, of them, of their children, family and friends
